Internet services provided are analogous. But even though the services remain common among the users, the operating system is not the same for all. The question is how can we differentiate between various devices that the user is operating?
Each device that is connected to the internet is unique. Unique in the sense that they have distinct IP addresses. No two devices can have the same IP address.
An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a numeric code that helps in locating the operating system and devices. The user accesses the settings of the router by using this code. From the settings, we can modify the options according to our own needs.
By default, the IP address of every computer network system remains the same after manufacturing. And that.

How to log in to 192.168.100.1?
It describes the very first step to access the router management interface. Before starting, we need to make sure that the IP address is the default address. If it’s not 192.168.100.1 then we cannot move to the next step. Once convinced of the IP address, the next step is to connect the router with the system. Further log in process is as follows:-
Step 1: First open the web browser in use.
Step 2: Then type the IP address 192.168.100.1 on the search bar and press the Enter key.

After logging in, the next step is to change the SSID and the default password. The steps vary depending upon the brand of the modem/routers. Commonly manufacturing telecommunication brands that manufacturers them are, TP-Link, NetGear, Arris, Huawei, etc.
TP-Link
Step 1: First open the management page of the router and log in with the default username.
Step 2: Then click Basic > Wireless
Step 3: After this go to wireless settings and change the password and Wi-Fi name.
Step 4: Finally save the changes and the system will reboot.
NetGear
Step 1: First open the web browser and enter the default IP address, or search routerlogin.net.
Step 2: Then enter the default username (=admin) and password (=password).
Step 3: Afterwards click Basic > Wireless
Step 4: Next enable SSID broadcast from wireless settings.
Step 5: Now it’s time to change the Wi-Fi name.
Step 6: Then go to the security option and select WPA2PSK[AES.
Step 7: Afterwards enter the desirable password.
Step 8: Finally click apply.
Arris
Step 1: First open the login page of the router management interface (as discussed earlier) and log in with the default username and password.
Step 2: Secondly open the Wireless tab option.
Step 3: Further the network name and WPA passphrase correspond to the default username (SSID) and password.
Step 4: Finally change the SSID and password from here and save the changes.
Huawei
Step 1: First of all open the router management interface from the web browser and log in using the default username and password that is ‘root’ (username) and ‘admin’ (password).
Step 2: Second go to Wi-Fi settings >Wi-Fi basic settings. (For modifying the settings individually, move to Advanced settings.
Step 4: After that enter your new name in the Wi-Fi name.
Step 5: Then select WPA2-PSK in security mode and enter the new password.
Step 6: Finally save the changes.
A strong password is always advised and encouraged to the users. This is done to prevent unauthorized access by hackers who can easily crack an easy password. The password should consist of a combination of words, numbers, and symbols. Such a password is very difficult to crack by unauthorized users.
Troubleshoot 192.168.100.1 Login Problems
If the password doesn’t work then there could be two possibilities here:
- What if you have changed the default password and now you forgot what is the new password. In such a case, first, calm down. Under such circumstances, perform a factory reset. Press the RESET button which is at the backside of the router for 10 seconds by inserting a needle inside it. This will reboot the system. After that the login username and password change to the default username and password. Then you can change them again accordingly.
- If the situation is that the default password and username entered is not working, then look for it on the internet. Search the same model as that of the router.
Unable to access anything (i.e. the browser keeps loading)
- Many a time it happens that the browser is unable to process information for the IP address 192.168.100.1. This happens may be due to an incorrect IP address. In such cases, find the correct IP and use that instead.
- Be sure with the correct spelling of the IP address.
For example, 192.168.100.1 is the correct IP, and 192.168.I00.1is wrong. You should take care of all these things.
- A firewall can also hinder the process. If it’s creating any problem, try disabling it temporarily.
